Maxxis Assegai 27×2.50" WT Kevlar 3CG/DD/TR Tire
The Maxxis Assegai tire is named after a spear used in combat by the Zulu tribe of South Africa. Greg Minnaar, a South African native, agreed that it was a fitting name for a tire that was used to fight on mountain slopes. The high lugs cut precisely into sand or dirt, but also provide traction on wet roots or rocks. While other tires excel on certain surfaces, the Assegai allows you to ride fast virtually anywhere.

Wide Trail (WT)
Maxxis tires based on the Wide Trail construction are optimized for modern wide rims (30-35 mm). Thanks to this, the tire mounted on a wide rim maintains an optimal round profile without unwanted flattening, thus offering maximum performance.

- Wide Trail tires for trail, enduro and downhill use are designed for rims with an internal width of 35 mm and are compatible with 30-35 mm rims.
- Wide Trail tires for XC use are designed for rims with an internal width of 30 mm and are compatible with 25-30 mm rims.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
If you plan to ride tubeless and save yourself the extra weight and worry about punctures, choose tires labeled Tubeless Ready. These use a sealant-compatible compound and have a reinforcement in the sidewall that increases puncture resistance. They also feature a special tubeless bead that adheres better to the rim. Tubeless tires can also be used with an inner tube.

Doubledown (DD)
The next step in the evolution of dual-ply tires for enduro racing. Two 120 TPI plies are complemented by sidewall reinforcement, giving the enduro racer the durability of a downhill tire in a lighter package.

3C MaxxGrip (3CG)
A soft combination of three compounds for uncompromising grip and unbeatable traction on downhills. This is the same compound used in the tires used in the Downhill and Enduro World Series.
