The Index is Nitro's flagship freeride boot, built for limitless backcountry adventures. It features the very latest Nidecker technology and dials up the stiffness for pure big mountain performance, whether you’re hiking lines off the lift or splitboarding into untouched terrain. We’ve constructed it around an asymmetrical upper that conforms perfectly to your foot and calf, with flex zones for unrivalled control without sacrificing comfort. A water resistant Storm Cover provides extra shelter for your feet and keeps your laces from icing up in deep snow. The lace system itself is BOA’s top-of-the-line H4 Coiler, with a brand new Internal Heel Lock system operated via the side dial and a separate control on the tongue to tighten the shell.

Expect unreal comfort and foot hold. To maximise grip in frozen terrain, we’ve added a premium B.F.T Vibram Approach outsole featuring an Icetrek rubber compound, while dual EVA layers in the midsole reduce vibrations on bumpy terrain and help soften big landings. The outsole blends into the Exo Spine via seamless Transition Zone design, eliminating the chance of snagging the back of your boot on the binding and boosting heelside response.

The solid feel continues up front with a tough TPU shield called ArmourTech, which protects your toes while you’re kicking steps up that ridgeline. Inside, a Gold Level Wrap Liner provides unparalleled comfort and support, and can be heat moulded for a custom fit. Make no mistake, this thing is the absolute pinnacle of boot technology. • Boa® Fit System - Ready for anything, designed to withstand. From park to podium, H4 resists impacts from the most demanding riders. The Coiler automatically takes up lace slack, increasing speed of entry into the boot and providing a micro-adjustable precision fit
• Internal Heel-lock - a unique tightening system that allows maximum adjustment of comfort and flexibility in the ankle area
• Hybrid Tongue Closing - The BOA® Dial, located on the tongue, pulls together the upper and lower part of the boot. Then the BOA® dial on the side activates a double lace that runs through an internal harness connected to the shell and tongue. When tightened, it creates a locking sensation and provides 3D heel lockdown. On both sides, lateral locking is done via the ankle strap and frontal locking is done via the laces that run through the tongue and tighten the tongue towards the instep.
• BFT Vibram® Approach - a top-of-the-line Icetrek compound sole that excels in grip on icy surfaces and has improved heel and toe traction. EVA midsole for maximum comfort.
• OC Kush - shock-absorbing gel inserts on the heel and forefoot, reducing fatigue and increasing comfort
• Gold Level Liner - Wrap-style asym shape for no pressure points, better flex control and easy on/off. The Custom Flex Zone gives your toes wiggle room for warmth. Uses extra PU for lateral stiffness and efficient power transfer between liner and shell
• 3D-molded Triple-Density Insole - anatomically shaped comfortable EVA insole supports the heel and arch with high-density foam, has extra cushioning on the heel and the silicone upper pattern provides traction.
• 3D Molded Tongue - 3D molded tongue provides an anatomical fit around the shin and forefoot, improves flex and heel hold, and improves overall forefoot support
• 3D Molded Toebox - the toe is made of one piece to eliminate seams, reduce size and extra durability
• Asym 3F - FIT - FEEL - FLEX, asymmetric boot shape and fastening for optimal support and flexibility, anatomical shape provides great performance and riding feeling
• Armor-Tech Waterproof - waterproof layer, reinforced shell made of high-tech material together with the Exo-Spine construction forms a connection between different parts of the boot, thus guaranteeing instant transfer of energy from heel to toe, extra stiffness and support with a feeling of security
