Nidecker Flow NX2 Carbon Hybrid Snowboard Binding

Do you want the benefits of the Speed-Entry system and the stiffness to blast up the slope like lightning and enjoy carving and freeride shred on steep slopes? Introducing the Nidecker Flow NX2 Carbon Hybrid, which is even lighter and more responsive than its classic version. It's based on the same aluminum baseplate, but the highback is reinforced with carbon to give you precision on the trailing edge. The stiffer hybrid straps with AuxTech technology also give you better overall control without compromising on your comfort. So you have no choice but to lean into it properly and shred the slope to pieces!

  • Flex: 4/4
  • Level: Resort 4/4, Pow 4/4, Park 2/4
  • Unisex

Baseplate

  • Material - 100% aluminum T6
  • Aluminuim NX2 – a legendary binding with a very stiff and lightweight aluminum baseplate that ensures immediate response and perfect edge control. The rounded corners support the natural bending of the board.
  • Power Triangle – heel response is enhanced by the legendary PowerTriangle, which combines a high-tensile steel structure, an asymmetric highback and a baseplate.
  • 2.5° Canted Bankbeds – the slight inclination of the insole ensures a more natural position for your feet. It saves the joints and increases the efficiency of energy transfer.
  • Slip'n'Grip – special panels in the binding that allow you to easily slip into the binding and back again without compromising on your comfort during the ride.

Hiback

  • Material - 70% nylon, 30% carbon fiber
  • Carbon Uniback – a lightweight one-piece hiback with an ergonomic design that follows the contours of your boots and provides a larger support surface for even more response. The carbon component promotes stiffness for maximum energy transfer and high control.
  • Speed-entry – the hinged hiback allows quick entry into the binding from behind.

Straps

  • AuxTech® technology – AuxTech® straps have a geometric pattern that works like a network of tiny joints. When tightening, the strap spreads evenly around the boot without stretching the material. The result is better pressure distribution, less leg fatigue and a feeling of direct connection.
  • Exo-Kush Pro Hybrid ankle strap – a stiffer version of the two-layer strap that offers even higher responsiveness. The bottom layer of shock-absorbing EVA foam is placed on the outer shell of stronger injected TPU. The hybrid construction is connected to the lower strap for easier use of the speed-entry system and maintaining the traditional feeling of two-strap binding.
  • Lower strap Hexo Toecap - a strap with a 3D AuxTech pattern that evenly hugs the toe of the boot for high comfort.
  • Active Strap Technology – the unique technology works very simply so that when the highback is not collapsed, the strap moves forward at the same time, freeing up space for your leg. When returning the highback to the vertical position, the strap also returns to its place and tightly hugs the boot.
  • Quick-Set Latches - for perfect centering of the strap, latches are used, which work without any tools, are simple and reliable.

LSR Ratchets

  • LSR 2.0 Auto Lock Carbon – evolution of popular lockable ratchets. The next generation will automatically lock your settings once you're done tweaking. You always get the same level of strength, but you can quickly adjust it at any time. The premium version with carbon levers is lighter and more durable.
  • It works both for rear Speed-entry and classic side entry through the straps

Disk

  • Multi-Disk NX2 – aluminum center disc that is light and fits all types of inserts including Burton Channel; 4x4, 4x2 + 3HP + M6 Channel

How to Choose Snowboard Bindings

Rule number one: boots first, bindings second! The right snowboard equipment must match and fit perfectly, so don't underestimate the importance of your choice and follow a few important steps.

Choosing the right bindings depends on several different factors. The stiffness of the bindings, size, type, material and the amount you are willing to invest are all important. We have a simple guide on how to make the best choice. But if you're still confused, drop by our shop in Brno. Together we'll talk it through and recommend the best yet personalised fit for you.

First and foremost - The Boots

The binding adjusts to the size of the boots. That's rule number one. If you're picking out your bindings in a store, it's ideal to take your boots with you and try them on to see how they fit. The straps of the binding should fit snugly around them. The easiest option is to combine binding and boots of the same brand. The models are designed to fit together automatically.

Soft or Firm Binding?

You should choose the stiffness of your snowboard and bindings according to your riding style. Softer bindings are more playful and suitable for both beginner riders and freestyle riders. A slightly stiffer binding should be chosen if you prefer rough carving on the piste or freeride.

There are several types of bindings:

Classic two-strap binding

Soft bindings consist of baseplate, heelback and straps. The method of fastening can be either over the toe or over the instep.

Speed Entry

First, you set a strap that you do not manipulate any further. The bindings are entered through the heel, so it is a much faster way of slipping on.

Step On

A simple and at the same time very quick way to put on your boots into binding. If you don't like to bend over and downright hate sitting in the cold snow before every ride, you'll love the Step On.

Which foot goes first?

Advanced snowboarders already know which foot is in front and which is in the back. But if you're a complete beginner who's never stood on a board before, there's a simple trick to find out. Just try to run outside for a bit and take the longest jump you can. Did it work? And which foot did you bounce off the ground with? That's the foot that's supposed to be the first on a snowboard. If you're not 100% sure of the outcome, ask a friend or family member to stand behind you and gently push you forward unexpectedly. Again, the foot that goes out first is the one that will be on the board in the front.

What angles to choose when mounting bindings

And speaking of the direction of the bindings, it's important to keep in mind the angle at which to attach the bindings. Whether you prefer downhill or you prefer to jump on rails, you'll be comfortable riding in the 15° and -9° positions.

Bindings overhang over the edge of the snowboard

Once you've managed to attach the bindings and you're happy with both the angle and straddle of your feet, all that's left to do is check one last important detail. The bindings (including boots) must not overhang the heel more than the toe (or vice versa). An unbalanced position of the bindings can cause a problematic ride - in short, you'll be hitting the snow with your boots and bindings every now and then. And that spoils the feeling of a perfect ride!
