How to Choose Wakeboarding Equipment?

How to... Wakeboard

Choosing the right wakeboard equipment is one of the most important steps to enjoy wakeboarding to the fullest.

Wakeboarding is the perfect sport for hot summer days. In our area, people are drawn to the wakepark in early spring. It is an ideal refreshment after a hard day, but also a full day of fun. As with any other sport, the right equipment is important for wakeboarding. This is because it determines to a large extent how much you will enjoy wakeboarding. In addition to the wakeboard and bindings, a vest or helmet is also an essential piece of equipment.

How to Choose Wakeboard Set?

When choosing a wakeboard it is important to look at the size, the style of riding the wakeboard is designed for and also the rocker - the amount of bend of the board in a wakeboard's profile. Choose the size of the board according to your weight. According to the style of riding, we divide wakeboards into park boards and behind the boat. The characteristics of the wakeboard are influenced by its flex, the material of the base and the intended riding style.

Wakeboard boots are divided into three main categories: open-toe, closed-toe and System from Hyperlite. The main advantage of open-toe boots is a larger foot size range. It is therefore convenient to choose this type if you want to share the boots with your family or friends. Closed-toe boots are safer in a way that they pose no danger to your toes when hitting obstacles at riding. They also fit your feet precisely and thus provide maximum comfort. Stiffness of boots is given in the 1-10 scale from softest to stiffest. Softer boots are more suitable for riding on obstacles, stiffer ones then provide more support at tricks from water. The System from Hyperlite, on the other hand, works on the principle of snowboard bindings - boot and binding are sold separately - the main advantage of this type of binding is that you do not have to walk barefoot in the wakepark, the disadvantage, on the other hand, is that it provides slightly less boardfeel.

      What to Wear?

Safety standards require wearing an impact vest when riding. It also has floating properties, so you do not completely sink in the water when you fall. In our store you can choose from premium brands like O'Neill and Follow. To enjoy your rides even in colder water, choose a wetsuit with a suitable thickness. A helmet is an ultimate must-have. It eliminates head injuries when falling on obstacles. It is advisable to choose helmets with ear protection, so that you do not rupture your eardrums at the fall. With Bern H2O helmets, ear protection is already included in the package.
