Don't be afraid of forming girls' communities, says the Girl Squad

Girls go by their own rules! They love adventure, fun and snowboarding.
Girls have a unique perspective, so it is key to have the right team of women when designing the products. Horsefeathers knows that much. That's why they have formed a group of women that ensures every piece looks great, yet still is fully functional. Join the team, and head for your own adventure.
Who is Girl Squad?
Kateřina
On social media, you can find her under the nickname of @kater_maharadza. She has been cooperating with Horsefeathers for about 10 years already. When she is not roaming through snowy hills, she is the presenter of the online magazine Refresher and she manages social media. On weekends, she works as a snowboarding and skiing instructor.
Adriana
On Instagram, she presents herself under the nickname of @adriazia. She has been cooperating with Horsefeathers for almost 5 years now. It started with a products photo shoot and continues with an honorary post at Girl Squad. However, it is worth mentioning that, among other things, she works as an interior designer at IKEA.
Renáta
@renazpopradu, under this nickname exactly you will find Renáta on social media. She was introduced to Horsefeathers by Adriana and also started with products photo shooting. She works as a full-time snowboarding and skiing instructor.
Girl Squad started as a team of girls to promote active lifestyle to girls and women. At Horsefeathers they had a vision that on the Czechoslovak market, to present snowboarding and skateboarding to girls through a group of friends who like to ride together makes much more sense than doing it through pro riders. Riding together on the hills, asphalt, in the ocean or setting off for another adventure, that's what defines Girl Squad.
"We are just normal girls who like to ride together and want to enjoy it to the max. This way, it is much easier for other girls to join us on a trip and identify with us. In short, we have no problem taking anyone onboard. We are on the same wavelength."
They have no common motto, but they have a common song from Spice Girls. They agree, however, that it's not about mottos.
"Women have their own rules and whoever wants to join us should feel free to do so. There is nothing more to it. Just grab a snowboard, sneakers, swimsuit and don't be afraid."
The community around the Girl Squad is growing each day. In fact, it's been here a long time ago, they just gave it the name and shape. Girls are happy that it exists and that they team up with other girls and do what they enjoy together. Social media, where they can exchange photos and videos, is just a plus and attracts also younger girls. By working as snowboarding instructors at the same time, they also notice that younger children still are starting to come to learn. Both girls and boys. It also usually happens that 30-year-old women come and tell them they want to learn snowboarding. And that's great, they agree.
Trip to Bali and the forgotten backpack
Horsefeathers gave the Girl Squad an opportunity to travel to one winter and one summer trip. When they learned that, they were thrilled and the first shot immediately hit Bali. At first, they didn't know what their budget would be and how it would turn out. Bali had been on their common wishlist for a long time and this is how they actually made their dream come true. First, they were looking for a destination where there would be mountains as well as the sea. And Bali fit their plans perfectly. It was a visually interesting place where there are not only beaches and ocean, but except for that, Bali also has incredibly beautiful nature, mountains, volcanoes, forests and rainforests.
Not everything always turns out as planned, however. Kateř put her backpack fully loaded for the whole trip to another motorcycle. "Halfway through, I realised not having it on my back. Despite that, we managed to make it work thanks to the fact that we are Girl Squad, of course. The girls lent me some of their stuff and I bought leggings and a toothbrush. It's such a classic girl's story. She forgot something again. The whole backpack even! I had everything in that backpack. But, in the end, a toothbrush, some underwear and a swimsuit is everything you need in Bali."
And what would they reccomend to fellow girls who ride or are just starting to?
"Don't be afraid to form girls' communities. It's good to be part of women's crews, because we are all different, but same at once. We simply complement each other. We may have different tempers, but we are all women. An active lifestyle is for women of all ages and stages of life. Adriana already has a kid, but is still actively involved. Even if you are a mother, you don't just have to sit at home, but you can still lead an active lifestyle and pursue your hobbies. Don't be afraid to go out and look for an adventure!"
