Gravity Snowpark Bukovka - Grand Opening

The event we had been impatiently waiting for is already behind us. But you know, the best things are worth waiting for and we enjoyed the opening of the Gravity Snowpark exactly according to this philosophy! And because we know that sharing is caring, we bring you a full-fledged report from the event.

On Saturday, February 2, we officially opened the Gravity Snowpark Bukovka - a newbie on the Čenkovice side.

The shapers party was working really hard and preparing everything all week before the event and we have to say that they really cared. The snowpark setup was very creative, basically a large skate park with an eight-meter kicker in the middle. We could see it all with our very own eyes on our arrival to the Čenkovice area on Friday.

On Saturday morning, we all met at eight o'clock under the hilltop and started to make the last preparations. Our task was to set up the Arbor and Gravity testing center, while a well-known local group had already set up the grill for a proper barbecue, where the scent of juicy burgers and hotdogs was provoking us all day. At ten, everything was ready for the start. First of all, the whole snowboard and freeski family showed up. The once-a-year sessions, you know ... . So we took some time to welcome everyone, we had some refreshments, and at noon, started a contest on the first platform. All this to the tunes of a great mix by Mára Vít.

The contest was in the a prize for trick form, so the one who nailed it the most on a particular obstacle, was awarded the prize. We gradually went through the three main platforms in the snowpark and slowly moved to the jump, the competition for the best trick. Pure madness, trust us. Local Pepa Nožička just nailed it on the board, and took the first place for the stylish FS 540. Lukáš Berro, on the other hand, entertained us with his creative and crazy Freeski ride, for which he took the first place, too!

Finally, a moment of some extra time, and we wolf down some juicy burgers, luring us from the early morning. And it's here. It's time for the craziest and most bizarre part of the program - High Jump. We had seen quite a lot, but the Šakal's frontflip over the 1.6m bar, and then Dočky's 2.2m tall frontside ollie really took our breaths away.

After that, we awarded prizes for the best jump and high jump tricks, and a grand celebration of a good day was awaiting us. Fortunately, we did not have to go far as the whole afterparty took place directly at the snowpark! Some ride, right? Mára started the mix again and was gradually replaced by one of the organizers of the event, Petr Toman. And now you have to forgive us, but what happened next only stays at Bukovka. For us, it was definitely one of the greatest events on our busy schedule. Check out the video and the photos from the opening and breathe in the atmosphere that was really worth it.
