Matěj Novák

Our surf star Matěj Novák loves surfing and he diffuses it around. It would be really hard to find more famous Czech rider, so we will look at him in more details. Matěj wears a wetsuit of the brand O'Neill and he quickly liked it. We will now find out why!

Matěj Novák quickly emerged among the famous Czech surfers, thanks to the Wild House project, a house on the Spanish coast (Asturias), where annually houses dozens of people from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Visitors may try surfing and more advanced riders will definitely enjoy great spots.

Matěj has worn O'Neill since 2016 and this is what he says about: "There is cold water in the Atlantic Ocean, so it's better to ride in neoprene. I used to buy cheaper neoprens, but nowadays, I'm more careful about buying equipment and I must admit that it's worth to invest in a better one. I'm currently using O'Neill PsychoOne 5/4 and it's a big difference because I'm warm and I do not have to wear gloves or neoprene boots. I do not want to wear neoprene boots or gloves to converse better feeling with the surf. Everybody around rides in boots and gloves and it's less comfy than without it. Someone even use neoprene hoodies and I'm laughing because I'm warm. I really recommend to choose proper staffs to be sure that it will work properly. Personally, I'm happy with O'Neill, because it's holding all the time, and it's not cold at all. O'Neill also dries very quickly. Even faster, than a classic 3/2 - big thumb up. Neoprene O'Neill is also lightweight and flexible, so I'm looking forward to a new O'Neill Hyperfreak, that's even more flexible."

Besides surfing and things around, he also organizes camps. Matěj has been the first Czech, who participated in the "Big Wave" riding, which is wave like a tenement house. He also needed special equipment and accessories from surf brand Creatures.
