The Principle of Three Layers

A well-chosen jacket and pants are not the only way to ensure thermal comfort. The most important thing is to follow the principle of three layers. High quality first layer, tech hoodie, snowboard jacket and pants.

1. Transporting layer

• First layer - pants, underwear, top

The base layer wicks moisture in the form of sweat away from the skin, preventing cooling or overheating due to physical activity and thus keeping the body in optimal thermal comfort. This layer is in direct contact with the skin and is made of non-absorbent synthetic fibres that both insulate and allow liquid moisture to be drawn away from the body surface. The synthetic fibres do not swell, the interstices in the fabric remain open and thus retain breathability.

In order for the first layer to perform well, it must be tight on the body. You should therefore get your underwear, pants and T-shirt. For cold-tempered individuals, we recommend thermal underwear with Merino wool, which warm even when it is moist and is naturally antibacterial, so it reduces the odors.

2. Isolating layer

Tech hoodie can be made from a variety of insulating fibers and fabrics. Most often, materials made from synthetic fibers that do not absorb moisture, and therefore retain good insulation properties, are used. In addition, synthetic fibers have a higher moisture transport capacity than natural fibers, thanks to lesser water absorption.

Synthetic materials also dry much faster than natural insulating materials. This category includes all so-called tech and fleece hoodies of different weights and adjustments.

3. Protective top layer

It must be waterproof to prevent the ingress of water from the outside environment and at the same time be breathable to prevent moisture from the inside from accumulating in the insulation layers.
