Unforgettable moments await families, ski and snowboard beginners and passionate winter sports enthusiasts.
Unique location
Off to the slopes and into skiing fun! The idyllic high plateau between Carinthia and Styria is considered to be extremely sunny and snow-sure. At almost 1,800 m above sea level, 16 comfortable lifts await winter holidaymakers. Up to 43 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes ensure boundless skiing fun for guests of all ages. The area with all levels of difficulty - from beginners to pros - offers all the prerequisites for a fantastic vacation with the whole family. With the 1.5 km long snow park, Turracher Höhe offers one of the most extensive "fun mountain" facilities in Austria and scores points with three lines and a family line, an XXL fun slope, a fun cross and a kids' slope.
Wildkopfbahn chairlift
A new highlight of this year's winter season is the Wildkopfbahn, which opens in December. This modern, 600-metre-long 6-seater chairlift is equipped with comfortable seats, automatic closing bars (ideal for younger guests) and weather protection hoods. It replaces the well-known Wildkopf T-bar lift and promises even more skiing and snowboarding fun. The valley station has been generously designed and the longer lift route now takes skiers to the same height as the Zirbenwaldbahn.
Gastronomy and hospitality
The natural jewel Turracher Höhe impresses with its exceptional location around Lake Turrach. Safe, wide slopes, double-tracked high-altitude trails for cross-country skiers and the legendary "Fun Mountain" characterize this winter sports paradise. In the numerous rustic ski huts, the personal service and warm hospitality delight annual holidaymakers as well as day visitors from Carinthia, Styria and nearby Salzburg. Stories are told and tired muscles are relaxed over delicious regional delicacies. The large outdoor terraces also offer plenty of space to catch the sun's rays and enjoy the region's culinary delights.
Piste buttlers
As a trademark of the region, the piste butlers are once again on duty this winter with their extensive knowledge and surprise winter sports enthusiasts with special treats right on the piste. The Turracher Höhe piste butlers have been looking after the well-being of guests for over two decades. They guide them to the most beautiful places, show them hidden paths and recommend rustic huts. The piste butlers organize a varied outdoor programme for all those staying in one of the 20 butler establishments: from various snowshoe hikes and family winter hikes to a morning trilogy including breakfast in a hut. There is something here for all winter sports enthusiasts.
