OneUp EDC: Smart Tool Stash
11th April 2023 | 0 comments
OneUp EDC's unique tool hide in your bike's stem or pump, so you're never without the essential tools required for unexpected trail service. What can you store in the system and how to install it?
From time to time something needs to be fixed, tightened or a flat tire needs to be dealt with on every bike, so going out on the trail without tools may not be worth it. Some people carry their tools in a pocket or backpack, others prefer different types of mounts, panniers and cases.
It was Canadian innovators from OneUp Components who came up with the original concept called EDC (Everyday Carry). With this system, you can carry your tools with you at all times without having to compromise the elegance of your machine. Because it uses the free space inside the stem or pump you're carrying, and it's always easy to keep close at hand.
EDC Variants
You can have EDC storage in several versions:
- Threaded – The most complete variant for mounting in the fork stem/column on a newly created thread
- Threadless – Smaller version for mounting in the fork stem/column without special thread
- Lite – A compact option for the fork stem/column that is easy to install.
- 100 cc Pump – Pump fully equipped with tools
- 70 cc Pump – More compact pump with tools

How to install OneUp EDC storage capsule?
- If you opt for the most equipped EDC option for the fork stem/column (V2 - Threaded), you will need to create a new thread in the fork column. The exact installation procedure is described in the following video.
- The threadless version does not require a new thread and replaces the star nut in the fork column. You can assemble this storage in 10 minutes.
- The EDC Lite model is the easiest to install. You don't have to cut the thread or dismantle the star nut, it's a matter of 5 minutes!
