Product Focus: Fox Union Bike Shoes

The offer in the category of bike shoes is expanded by the top-tuned models from the Fox brand. With the Union model series, not only those who ride with clipless compatible shoes, but also bikers who are used to platform pedals. Precision fit, durable construction and a thoughtful grip wrapped in a minimalist design.

 

Fox launched a brand new line of shoes in early February and we bring you a closer look at these design and functionally refined rockets that can handle downhill, enduro racing, classic trails and dirt jumps.

You'll have two models to choose from, which come in several colourways. The Union Flat model is designed for bikers who rely on platform pedals, while the Union model features a Clip-in system for SPD pedals.

 

Durable Upper Material

One of the main advantages of the shoes is their durable construction, which, at the same time, retains a first-class lightness. The upper consists of a mesh material that is coated with a layer of high-quality TPU for maximum durability. This creates a uniform seamless protection against water and dirt. A practical feature that prolongs the life of the shoe and protects your feet is the reinforced toe cap, coated with a high-density material. It will stand up to the impact of rocks, even in the roughest terrain.

Quality Grip for Riding and Walking

Ultratac™ rubber compound outsoles provide superior durability and unprecedented grip both on the bike and when walking next to bike. The outsole structure is maximally adapted to the use of the shoe. The special hexagonal pattern ensures perfect contact with the pedals. The hexagons taper towards the toe to support grip in situations where you are pushing the bike uphill, while the larger hexagons on the heel in turn increase grip when walking downhill. You'll gain confidence underfoot in the shoes, which is essential on challenging or soft terrain.

Double C = Comfortable Construction

Ventilation is the key to feeling fresh even after hours on the trail. Airflow is provided by subtle perforations in the TPU surface at the toe and sides. And your feet will especially appreciate the inside of the shoes. The comfortable lining transitions seamlessly into a perfectly tuned EVA footbed that's soft enough to keep you comfortable on a demanding ride, yet firm enough to ensure efficient energy transfer from foot to pedal. Plus, the shoe retains its shape even with prolonged use thanks to a reinforced heel construction that wraps around your foot firmly yet comfortably and keeps it in place.

Union X Union Flat

Do you prefer riding on platform pedals, or can't you imagine it without clipless compatible? Although these two models don't look too different at first glance, each has its own specifics that will appeal to different types of bikers.

Union

• The shoes are equipped with a dual clamping system for the clipless compatible pedals, which gives you the option of mounting the shoe in two positions - power for a more aggressive ride and control for more precise control.
• Your foot is reliably kept in the shoe by the lacing system with Velcro strap, which allows you to adjust the fit to the maximum. The strap holds like a glove, so it can withstand a tricky ride and is easy to tighten even with gloves on.
• The EVA insole with a sophisticated arch support adjustment system also allows for a perfect fit. Two pairs of interchangeable liners for low and high support are included in the package, which you simply attach to the insole with Velcro.

 

Union Flat

• Compared to the other models in the Union range, the Flat version has a slightly more compliant and flexible outsole for reliable contact with platform pedals. The hexagonal formations that make up the grip of the sole also have smaller gaps between them, so the shoe works much better with the pins on your pedals.
• The flat sole makes them ideal for trails and dirt jumps.
