Tire Maxxis Assegai 29×2.50" WT 3CT EXO+TR
The tire of Maxxis Assegai bears the name of the spear used in combat by members of the South African Zulu tribe. Greg Minnaar, a native of South Africa, acknowledged that it was a suitable name for a tire used to fight on mountain slopes. The high protrusions are precisely cut into sand or clay, but at the same time ensure traction on wet roots or stones. While other tires excel on a certain surface, the Assegai allows for really fast driving everywhere.
Parameters
- Mixture: 3C MaxxTerra (3CT)
- TR - Tubeless ready
- Defect protection: EXO+
- TPI: 120
- Purpose: AM / enduro
Wide Trail (WT)
Maxxis tires based on the Wide Trail construction are optimized for modern wide rims (30-35mm). As a result, the tire worn on a wide rim maintains an optimal round profile without unwanted flattening, thus offering maximum performance.
- Wide Trail tires for trail, enduro and downhill use are designed for rims with an inner width of 35mm and are compatible with rims 30-35mm.
- Wide Trail tires for XC use are designed for rims with an inner width of 30mm and are compatible with 25-30mm rims.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
If you plan to ride without tubes and get rid of excess grams and worries about defects, choose tires with the label Tubeless Ready. They use a compound compatible with sealant and have a reinforcement in the sidewall that strengthens the resistance to puncture. They also feature a special tubeless bead that adheres better to the rim. Tubeless jackets can also be used with a tube.
EXO+
The EXO+ designation means a combination of EXO and SilkShield technologies. The SilkShield layer protects the entire surface of the tire from bead to bead, while EXO strengthens the sidewalls. Together, EXO+ technology increases:
- tread puncture protection by 27%,
- sidewall durability by 51%,
- resistance to pinch flats by 28%.
3C MaxxTerra (3CT)
The combination of three compounds in a medium level of hardness ensures a balanced ratio of traction, service life and rolling resistance.
